Academic and Professional Interests:
Dr. Nicholson’s research interests focus on identifying positive, protective factors (e.g., hope, resiliency, hardiness, spiritual coping) which can help parents a risk for poor parenting improve their parenting behaviors. Dr. Nicholson supervises practica through the Community Counseling and Assessment Clinic, teaches a graduate level Introduction to Counseling Psychology course and an undergraduate General Psychology course each year.
Professional Honors and Achievements:
Dr. Nicholson is Director of Training of both the Master’s and Doctoral programs in Counseling Psychology. She has received recognition as an Outstanding Young Alumna from Marquette University and is a licensed psychologist in the state of Mississippi.
