Academic and Professional Interests:

Dr. Dahlen's research focuses on (1) the prevention and treatment of problem anger and aggressive behavior, (2) relational aggression in emerging adulthood, and (3) clinical traffic psychology (i.e., studying the role of driver personality in motor vehicle accidents and unsafe driving behavior). He teaches graduate courses in the assessment and diagnosis of mental disorders and group counseling. At the undergraduate level, he teaches forensic psychology.

Professional Honors and Achievements:

Dr. Dahlen directs the Community Counseling and Assessment Clinic, the in-house training clinic of the Counseling Psychology Program. He serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Accident Analysis and Prevention. Dr. Dahlen is a licensed psychologist and Distinguished Diplomate of the National Anger Management Association. In 2011, he received certification as an Anger Management Specialist V from the National Anger Management Association.
