Research is an important part of our mission at the Community Counseling and Assessment Clinic. As a client, you might be asked to participate in one or more research studies. Participation is on a voluntary basis and might include receiving treatment, undergoing an interview, or completing questionnaires. Financial compensation or no-cost treatment may be provided to research participants.
Current Research Studies
Anger Management: The Anger Management Program is running a treatment study for adults with anger problems. Treatment is provided at no cost for persons who qualify for the study, and monetary incentives of $50-$100 are provided to participants.
Parenting: The Parenting Young Children Program provides ongoing parent training for minimal cost to parents of young children. Treatment includes individual parenting classes with a trained parenting counselor which works to address common parenting concerns such as noncompliance, temper tantrums, problems with eating, sleeping, potty training, and difficulties with establishing routines.
Motivational Interviewing Training: The Consortium for the Study and Application of Motivational Interviewing is running a training study for counseling psychology trainees. Clients receive specialized services from trained counselors aimed at enhancing client readiness to change problem behaviors.
