The Department of Special
Collections is open to the public. To use the facilities,
researchers must obtain a reference card from the
library. Photocopying is done by the staff. In addition
to the Department of Special Collection, transcripts
are available for reading at the Bancroft Library
at University of California, Berkeley; Claremont Gradaute
School (special collections, the Honnold Library);
California State University, Sacramento (the library);
and California State University, Fullerton (oral history
program). Most transcripts relating to African American
history may also be read at the library of the UCLA
Center for African American University.
Inquiries about purchasing transcripts should be
addressed to UCLA Oral History Program, A253 Bunche
Hall, Box 951575, Los Angeles, CA 90095-1575. Or
researchers may phone that office at 310-825-4932
or e-mail oral-history@library.ucla.edu.
Finding aids for the collection include an oral
history catalog on site and a published guide: UCLA
Oral History Program: Catalogue of the Collection.
