Unity Conference
The Center for Sustainable Health Outreach (CSHO) announces our Call for Presentation Proposals. This year’s conference theme is “Community Health Workers: The Winds of Change - From Grass Roots to Ground Breaking Public Health Professionals.” While all presentation proposals are welcome, special consideration will be given to proposals that focus on increasing core competencies for community health workers through in-depth skill-building workshops. Additionally, preference will be given to proposals that demonstrate that CHWs have a leading role in the planning, development, and presentation of the proposed topic.
While abstracts submitted for presentations in other languages are welcome, we cannot guarantee translation services. However, CSHO is committed to working to ensure translation services wherever possible. Presentations that are interactive and participatory in nature are especially encouraged. Limited travel assistance may be available for Community Health Worker presenters, upon request.
Attached is the Call for Presentation Proposals form. All presentation proposals are due by March 1st. Please see the Call for Presentation Proposals form for more information. Please limit your proposals to 350 words.
If you are new to this process, please note that all proposals submitted are peer-reviewed and evaluated using the following criteria: relevance to CHW practice, originality, quality and description of subject matter, clear description of presentation, interactive format and CHW leadership and participation. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Susan Mayfield-Johnson at (601) 266-6266 or at susan.johnson@usm.edu .
