Fall Performances
REPERTORY DANCE COMPANY SITE DANCE SERIES:
Downtown Hattiesburg, October-November, 2012
While the Mannoni Performing Arts Center is under renovation, the USM Dance Department takes its dancing to the streets, presenting dances created and performed at the Hattiesburg Zoo, the Holloway Transfer and Storage Building, Click Boutique, 206 Front, and in alleys and hidden doorways downtown.
RDC Site Dance I: Zoo Boo, October 26-27 and 31, 2012 at 6:00 pm
This performance takes place at the Hattiesburg Zoo, during its annual “Zoo Boo” event. Come see how the human animal fits in at the zoo!
Location: Hattiesburg Zoo
**There is an admission fee for the Zoo Boo event. Check hattiesburgzoo.com for more information. There is no separate charge for the dance performance.
RDC Site Dance II: Holloway Transfer & Storage Building, November 2, 2012 at 5:00 pm, November 3, 2012
at 2:00 pm
In a juxtaposition of industrial decay with vibrant artistry, 3 dances bring this old, abandoned warehouse to life again.
Location: Holloway Transfer and Storage Building is at the corner of Ronie Avenue and W. Laurel Avenue, in downtown Hattiesburg. View map
**Please note: There are no bathrooms at this site, and while we will have limited seating available, most audience members will stand throughout the 30-40 minute performance.
RDC Site Dance III: Downtown Dance, November 10, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 pm
Dances will be performed inside Click Boutique and 206 Front, as well as outside in the alleys and overlooked spaces of downtown Hattiesburg. Each dance piece will be performed twice in rotation during the 3-hour span, giving the audience time to enjoy both the performances and the food, shopping, and culture that make downtown Hattiesburg so unique.
