Gain experience while you earn a stipend and have your tuition paid!

Financial assistance is available to graduate students on a competitive basis. Financial assistance may be in the form of a research assistantship or a student job. The amount of money available for research assistantships varies each year. Further information may be obtained from the Director. Both in-state and out-of-state tuition is waived for students on assistantships. Graduate assistants work a total of 20 hours per week and must carry a full-time load of graduate classes in the Economic Development or Workplace Training and Development master's programs.

Criteria for WTD/ED Graduate Assistants:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) or equivalent
  • Enrollment in WTD/ED master's program
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Available for at least two semesters of employment
  • Previous WTD/ED students must have demonstrated excellent performance in coursework and the program to be considered
  • Proficiency in computer skills (such as use of Microsoft Office)
  • Proficiency in research skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be enrolled in at least 12 hours during the fall and spring semesters
  • Must be enrolled in at least 9 hours during the summer semester
  • Must maintain a 3.0 grade point average in the WTD/ED program
  • Employment Eligibility Verification
