Admission
Requirements 1 Submit
a transcript documenting that the student has a 3.0 (on
a 4.0 scale) grade point average (GPA) over the last
two years of his/her undergraduate studies.
2 Submit GRE scores. The Graduate Management
Admissions Test (GMAT) or MAT may be submitted in place of the
GRE. Students whose native language is not English must achieve
a TOEFL score of 560 or more. These tests should be taken in
the last semester of the undergraduate program or prior to the
attempt to enroll in the master’s program.
3 Provide three letters of recommendation from
persons qualified to assess the applicant’s readiness for
graduate study. The letters should be sent to the Department.
4 In exceptional cases, students may be admitted
conditionally. Such students must earn a 3.0 on the first nine
(9) semester hours of work numbered 500 or above or on all courses
taken while completing this nine-hour requirement in order to
qualify for regular admission.
5 Students may be required to take some prerequisite
courses in geography, business, or other related fields prior
to taking the economic development courses.
6 Submit a brief statement of what the student
hopes to achieve through this program, a portfolio of relevant
