Anouncing an Autism Screening Day (pdf) on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Note: This flyer has been updated to reflect a change in Jackson's Screening Day due to expected bad weather.
As part of Autism Awareness Day, the Institute is sponsoring a state-wide Autism Screening Day. New data from the CDC indicate that 1 in 68 children have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Because early intervention is so important to long-term intervention outcomes, it is important that children are screened for ASD as early as possible. Early screening for ASD is not readily available in Mississippi. Autism Screening Day provides an opportunity for concerned parents and pediatricians to have young children screened.
