Accredited ONLINE Schools and Colleges
This page will walk you through the difference between accreditation for a whole institution, such as regional accreditation, and accreditation for a specific degree program or department, often called programmatic accreditation.

 

Affordable Colleges Online: College Affordability for Students with Disabilities
An organization dedicated to providing free higher education tools and information for current and future college students and their families, has recently published a new resource for students with disabilities, titled "Making College Affordable: A Guide for Students with Disabilities." You'll notice that the guide is written in "people first" language and the guide utilizes a more readable font size. Multiple experts in the field with experience in academia, financial aid, and law contributed to the content in this resource guide.  

 

National Center for Secondary Education and Transition (NCSET)
NCSET coordinates national resources, offers technical assistance, and disseminates information related to secondary education and transition for youth with disabilities in order to create opportunities for youth to achieve successful futures.

This chart provides information about how high school is different from college dealing with students that have intellectual disabilities.

Heath Resource Center
This Center is an online clearinghouse on postsecondary education for individuals with disabilities and contains resources on transitioning and applying to college.

 

National Secondary Transition Training and Technical Assistance Center (NSTTAC)
This Center provides resources on transition for students with disabilities from the national center.

 

The Post-ITT
The Post-ITT Web Site is a collection of resources and activities established to aid students, parents, educators and disability service coordinators in the task of planning for a student's transition from secondary to postsecondary education.

 

Postsecondary Education Research Center
This Center provides program development, implementation and improvement resources for college options for students with intellectual disabilities, with a focus on transition aged (18-22) students.

 

Database Search for Programs
This Think College database lists inclusive programs in the United States around the country. One can search by state or by reviewing all programs.

Think College provides information on postsecondary education for persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. This site shares what is currently going on, provides resources and strategies, lets you know about training events and gives you ways to talk to others.

AHEAD is a professional membership organization for individual involved in the development of policy and in the provision of quality resources to meet the needs of persons with disabilities involved in all areas of higher education.

 

Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary Program (CTPP) designation
Programs may apply for this status so students with intellectual disabilities in the program can be eligible for federal financial aid.
