EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND RESEARCH MISSION
It is the mission of the Department of Educational Leadership and Research to
prepare exemplary educational leaders.
To that end, the department seeks to facilitate the personal and professional development of students as practitioners and scholars. In keeping with the University’s mission, the department is committed to (a) delivering quality educational programs; (b) promoting the creation and application of basic/applied research in education disciplines; (c) advancing the ideals of a pluralistic democratic society, civic responsibility, integrity, diversity, and ethical behavior; and (d) improving the quality of intellectual, social, economic, and personal aspects of student life.

Change and the Courage to Lead

A three-day dialogue on the process of leading change and bringing others along! Sessions will address these issues as well as focus on Mississippi's current change agenda: Balanced Leadership, First and Second Order Change, Schooling by Design, Depth of Knowledge, the Curriculum Framer and MCT-II. The agenda includes an internationally recognized lineup of speakers.
