John Bishop, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

Dr. John Bishop earned his Ph.D. in Language and Literacy Education at University of Georgia in 2008. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in Curriculum, Instruction and Special Education programs. His research interests include intersections between technology and literacy, writing pedagogy, and service-learning in higher education. Dr. Bishop has published in articles in national refereed journals and has presented at local, regional and national literacy conferences. He is a member of National Writing Project and works with local teachers through the South Mississippi Writing Project and through USM’s Teacher Leader Institute.
