Rose Jones, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

Dr. Rose Jones teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses in Early Childhood Education, Language Arts, Literacy, Curriculum, Children’s Literature, and English. Her research interests include: Early Childhood Education, literacy, recess research, play research, curriculum, Language Arts, storytelling, English. Dr. Jones holds a doctorate (Ed.D.) in Early Childhood Education with a minor in English and teaches in Curriculum and Instruction. She received her Ed.D. from Jackson State University;  Ed.S. from The University of Southern Mississippi; M.Ed. from University of Southern Mississippi; B.S. from Mississippi State University.  Dr. Jones has published articles in international, national, and regional refereed journals. In addition, she has presented internationally, nationally, regionally, and state-wide at research and educational conferences. Dr. Jones has served as chair of international organizations, regional organizations, and state organizations. She has served as: Mississippi Representative for Mid-South Educational Research Association (MSERA); chair of the Public Affairs Committee of Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI);  presently, Dr. Rose Jones is the Mississippi Recess Advocate for American Association for the Child’s Right to Play (IPA/USA).
