Sandra Manning, PhD, NBCT

Assistant Professor

Dr. Sandra Manning earned her Ph.D. in Special Education with an emphasis in Gifted Education at the University of Southern Mississippi in 2005. She also holds degrees from William Carey University and Mississippi State University. In addition, Dr. Manning earned National Board Teacher Certification in 2001. At Southern Miss, she teaches courses in Special, Elementary and Gifted Education. She has 15 years of teaching experience at the elementary, secondary, and university levels. Dr. Manning has served the educational community through publication of numerous articles, book chapters, and conference presentations. Most recently, she was elected state president of the Mississippi Association for Gifted Children. Her research interests include classroom assessment, issues in gifted education, and early childhood education.
