Family Nurse Practitioner Program
A highly qualified faculty is dedicated to the mission of the university in teaching, research and service. Each faculty member provides personal attention in the careful advising of FNP students. Nurses must be prepared to direct and provide quality-based, cost-effective care. In the 21st century, knowledge, competency, and clinical and information technology are the indicators of a successful professional nurse. The Master of Science in Nursing degree does and will make a difference! The Southern Miss FNP Program provides a scientific and research-based curriculum that prepares practitioners.
The program of study is designed to prepare graduate nurses to provide primary health care in rural and urban community health settings. Upon completion of the program, the graduate is qualified to apply for certification as a nurse practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
