Adult Gerontological Nurse Practitioner Program
Nurses must be prepared to direct and provide quality-based, cost-effective care. In the 21st century, knowledge, competency and clinical and information technology are the indicators of a successful professional nurse. The Master of Science in Nursing degree/AGNP does and will make a difference!
The Southern Miss School of Nursing collaborates with Alcorn State University, Delta State University, Mississippi University for Women and the University of Mississippi Medical Center to share resources and utilize classes taught via distance learning technology to each university in the consortium. One of their main goals is to increase the number of adult gerontological nurse practitioners in the state to address specialized needs of older adults.
The online program of study is designed to prepare graduate nurses to provide health care and address the specialized needs of the adult population in rural and urban community health settings.
