Q: Where can I find information about taking the GRE?

A: To be considered for admission in the School of Human Performance and Recreation’s graduate program, you must submit GRE score. You must take all three parts: verbal, quantitative, and writing. If you have never taken the GRE or would like to retake the GRE, you can visit the GRE website.

Q: If I have already taken the GRE, do I have to take it again?

A: If you have previously taken the GRE, you may ask that the scores be sent to The University of Southern Mississippi, or you may choose to retake the GRE and have the new scores sent to USM. If you would like to have your score sent to The University of Southern Mississippi call the GRE testing center at 1-888-473-7267.

A: You must enroll in at least 9 credit hours in order to have full-time status.

Q: Does enrollment in the online program follow the standard academic calendar?

A: Yes, you’ll start and end classes on the same dates as the in-person students.

Q: Will there be any courses that have face-to-face requirements?

A: Courses are offered online and in a face-to-face format.

Q: Are the exams required to be proctored?

A: It is up to the instructor of a course if an exam requires a proctor. You should always read the content in the syllabus and online course site to determine if a proctor is needed.
