Programs and Courses
Southern Miss began the eLearning Initiative in the spring of 2009. This initiative is focused on developing additional fully online degree programs to improve student satisfaction, raise retention and graduation rates, and increase enrollment at Southern Miss. The project encompasses many aspects of launching a successful online program including marketing and outreach efforts, faculty training and support, course scheduling and development, upgrading program and business processes, and sustaining growth.
We currently have undergraduate programs, graduate programs, hybrid/executive format programs, certificate programs, and a supplemental endorsement. In addition to our online degree programs, we offer a wide variety of fully online classes.
With the University’s dedication, new online programs are being developed each semester, so if you don’t see something you are interested in now, please continue to visit our Web site for new offerings as they become available.

Hybrid and Executive Programs
If a fully online environment is not for you and you need some interaction with your instructor and classmates, but you need a flexible schedule, a hybrid or executive program is perfect for you.
These types of programs allow you to complete work online and come to campus for face-to-face meetings.
Southern Miss currently offers programs in a hybrid or executive format. These programs include: Interscholastic Athletic Administration, Economic Development, Workforce Training & Development, Music Education, Human Capital Development, Instructional Technology & Design, and International Development.

Online Courses
You may be interested in taking an online course for professional development, or you are in need of a class to transfer to you institution, or perhaps you just love to learn, well Southern Miss is the place to be.
We offer a wide variety of fully online courses in many disciplines. These courses are semester bases and will be applied to a Southern Miss transcript.
