Conversation Partners Program
The ELI offers an optional conversation partners program at no additional cost. Volunteers from the university student body or from the local community team with ELI students, helping them practice their listening/speaking skills. These “cultural ambassadors” help ELI students assimilate and become part of the campus and local community.
Conversation Partners meet regularly to talk, share a meal or a snack, play a game, or attend a campus event. Groups meet in the afternoons after classes, but often get-togethers are arranged in the evenings or on weekends. As friendships develop, partners enjoy going to movies, attending sports events, shopping, and participating in many other recreational and entertainment activities.
