Child and Family Student Organization (CFSO)
The purpose of this organization is 1) to serve and act on behalf of the needs, rights, and well-being of all children and their families in Hattiesburg and the surrounding communities, with special emphasis on developmental and educational services and resources. to research, compile, and disseminate information regarding early childhood development, and 2)to foster the growth and development of the membership in their work with, and on behalf of, young children.
This will be accomplished by offering members opportunities 1) to meet with leaders in the community, 2) to work directly with families and young children, 3) to work with/exchange ideas with other Child Development/Family Relations students, and 4) to grow in their child and family advocacy roles.
Membership: The membership of this organization shall be open to regularly enrolled Undergraduate students in Child and Family Studies with a major or minor in Child Development and Family Relations. It shall also be open to regularly enrolled Graduate students in Early Intervention, Child and Family Studies, and Marriage and Family Therapy.
Officers: The officers of the organization include: The President, the Vice President, the Treasurer, the Secretary, and the Historian/Public Relations officer. They are elected at the beginning of each Fall semester.
Dues: Dues in the amount of $10.00 shall be collected from each regular member each semester.
