Exchange Programs
You can enhance your studies, your resumé, and your life experience through our department's wide variety of study abroad options, which range from two weeks to an entire academic year. Even students with little or no language background can study in Spain (the Granada program) or France (the Abbey program) for a semester while taking the language plus general education core courses. Students wanting a shorter experience abroad or who want to complete the language requirement or a minor can participate on our popular summer programs in France, Spain, Austria, and Costa Rica. These intensive language programs offer homestays, small group instruction, and built-in excursions; a professor will accompany the group.
Language majors have the incomparable opportunity to spend a semester or a year abroad though our low-cost, top flight exchange programs with elite international institutions and universities in Bonn (Germany), Brussels (Belgium), Paris and Orléans (France), Jaén and Madrid (Spain), and Lima (Perú). You will study at a university and take classes either at a language institute affiliated with the university or at the university itself. Your options include the following locations:
French Credit Abroad:
Université d’Orleans, Orléans, France
École Supérieure du Commerce Extérieur, Paris, France
Institut de Traducteurs et Interprètes, Brussels, Belgium
Join us on French in France and Belgium with Southern Miss Facebook group.
