Ms. Arana is a native of Nicaragua. She has a Master of Arts in Teaching Languages in Spanish from USM. She teaches all levels of lower-division Spanish and has a special interest in Spanish for special purposes, particularly in the field of law enforcement. She is currently the director of the undergraduate Spanish in Mexico summer program in Puebla, Mexico.
