The MATL in Mexico
Currently it is possible to complete the MATL-Spanish Emphasis during the summers at the Universidad de las Américas in Puebla, Mexico. Since core classes are also offered fully online in the summer, students can take both core classes and Spanish courses in Mexico during the summer. You are encouraged to check the link below for the course offerings in Mexico and our "Course Offerings" link for summer online classes. Only those students who have a documented proficiency in Spanish equivalent to the admission requirements for the Spanish Emphasis may take Spanish courses at this site.
Students in Mexico can also consider alternative course work that may involve intensive Spanish language study at CILC in Puebla. In addition, other forms of study and research abroad opportunities are available. Please contact the Mexico-MATL Site Coordinator for more information about these possibilities.
Independent Study Abroad with the MATL
French MATL students who wish to study on their own at a language institute may be able to combine travel, study, and research for graduate credit. The MATL French program supports learning opportunities at:
Langue Onze in Toulouse, France- Langue-Onze
Students would travel on their own to the school and take language courses in addition to conducting work on a specific research project for at total of 3-6 hours of graduate study transfer work.
