Scholarship Honors Memory of Southern Miss Student
When Marc Moses, a student at The University of Southern Mississippi, passed away in April 2007, his friends and family decided to create an everlasting scholarship in his honor.
The Marc Moses Scholarship Endowment, established as a tribute to Marc Moses, will be awarded to a student with financial need. Since Marc was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity at Southern Miss, preference will be given to a student who is a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity from the Gulf Coast.
To generate funds for the endowment, a golf tournament was hosted by his friends and family. The first annual Marc Moses Memorial golf tournament was held at Shadow Ridge on October 26. Proceeds from the tournament, which will be held each year, helped to establish the endowment. Donations and memorial gifts were also made in his memory.
“The Marc Moses Memorial Golf Tournament is a tribute to Marc,” said Anneas Moses, Marc’s father. “Creating this scholarship will help the school that Marc loved and that we all love. If we continue to have success with the event – and I think we will – the scholarship endowment will continue to grow and will continue to impact students at Southern Miss for years to come.”
