Resolution to Establish a Task Force on the Selection of University Presidents

Passed April 19, 2002

Resolved that the Faculty Senate of The University of Southern Mississippi:

  1. Establish a task force for the study of faculty participation in the search and selection of college and university presidents;
  2. The task force report the findings of its study and make recommendations designed to maximize opportunities for full and meaningful faculty participation in the process of presidential searches; and,
  3. The Faculty Senate task force (or its duly designated representatives) participate with representatives of other Faculty Senates of Mississippi's publicly-supported colleges and universities in the development of recommendations to be presented to the Board of Trustees, State Institutions of Higher Learning.
