With the Gulf Park Campus, the University of Southern Mississippi is the only dual-campus institution in the state of Mississippi. Southern Miss has maintained a strong presence on the Gulf Coast since 1947 when the first classes were organized in Biloxi. Today, Southern Miss-Gulf Coast is a complete, four-year university offering the full university experience to coast residents. Southern Miss’s dedication to academic excellence extends beyond the two primary campuses, with teaching sites throughout the state and even Europe.
The Southern Miss Gulf Coast campus is located in Gulfport while the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach is under repair following Hurricane Katrina.
Southern Miss Gulf Coast Research Laboratory (GCRL), which includes Cedar Point and the J.L. Scott Marine Education Center.
The Southern Miss Center for Higher Learning is located at Stennis NASA Space Center in Waveland, the nation's premier NASA installation for earth sciences.
Teaching sites are located at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, and at the Jackson County Center in Gautier.
Nursing students can also take advantage of classes offered in Meridian.
