Social Work Students Study in Jamaica
Southern Miss Gulf Coast Social Work Students -- Gulf Coast students Sarah Harrison and Sheila Rivers were among the eighteen social work students who studied in Jamaica in January of 2009. This year’s Caribbean Studies Program offered through the office of International Programs at Southern Miss included social work,  marine biology, chemistry, and criminal justice. The social work course was the largest class in this year’s Caribbean Studies program.  Social Work faculty Ms. Delories Williams and Dr. Tom Osowski co-taught the social work course.

The School of Social Work is pleased to offer students the opportunity to pursue a BSW or MSW at both its Hattiesburg and Gulf Coast campuses.

The Gulf Coast programs have some unique characteristics which are outlined below:
