Q. Donaldson, director of NASA's John C. Stennis Space Center,
has noticed a decline in American students pursuing graduate
programs in science and engineering. As he addresses this
potential crisis, he also reviews the opportunities available
in the "Silicon Valley of the South."
Donaldson
is retired from the U.S. Navy as commander of the Naval Meteorology
and Oceanography Command. He is in charge of coordinating
all of NASA's rocket propulsion test capabilities, Earth Science
Application programs and managing the Stennis Space Center.
