The Gulf Park Campus of The University of Southern Mississippi continues to be restored in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Three buildings at the north end of the campus plus the Gulf Park Library are now operational.

The Sun Herald and The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast College of Education and Psychology presented State Superintendent of Education Dr. Hank Bounds' discussion of "Public Education: Accomplishments and Challenges " on April 3. at the Advanced Education Center Auditorium on the Gulf Park Campus in Long Beach.
