National Science Foundation Funds Science Center for Marine Fisheries

March 19, 2013 - The University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Coast Research Laboratory has received funding from the National Science Foundation for the new Science Center for Marine Fisheries. The center will provide an academic resource for the fishing industry throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Gulf coast region.

Blue Crab Settlement

  • Settlement was monitored daily from May-October and used as an index of recruitment.
  • Seasonal periodicity is the same from year to year; but the magnitude of settlement is highly variable.
