- Oysters are collected by dredge
- Results are submitted to the Department of Marine Resources (DMR) Shellfish Division
- Mapping of oyster resources in Mississippi
- Poling of the substrate to determine type and firmness
- Take corresponding Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates
- Integrate data into GIS
