SEAMAP - SouthEast Monitoring and Assessment Program
- Cooperative effort between National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and the five Gulf states since 1981; coordinated by the Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission (GSMFC)
- GOAL: to collect long-term, standardized, fishery-independent data on the condition of regional living marine resources and their environment
Utilize trawls, plankton nets, fish traps and video to assess organisms at established stations throughout the Gulf of Mexico each year
- Evaluate water quality
