Hurricane Essentials at Scott Aquarium

BILOXI - The WLOX weather team and civil defense directors from all three coastal counties will provide hurricane information for coast residents and visitors at The University of Southern Mississippi's Scott Aquarium Thursday, July 29.

Topics covered in the free hurricane awareness program will range from a hurricane quiz to tips on specific threats in each county and finding shelter in cities off the coast. Pearl River County's educational trailer on severe weather will also be at the Aquarium and open for visits.

The WLOX weather team is presenting the program as part of the "Evening at the Aquarium" series sponsored by the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium and the Scott Aquarium.

The J.L. Scott Marine Education Center and Aquarium is a part of the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory, a unit of the university's College of Science and Technology.
