The center is comprised of two university partners: the University of Southern Mississippi and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. Dr. Eric Powell is the Director of SCeMFiS and the USM Site Director. Dr. Roger Mann is the VIMS Site Director.

SCeMFiS’ capabilities encompass the range of oceanographic, fisheries, and marine biological disciplines essential for addressing the data resource and analytical challenges faced by modern-day fisheries management.
