Research Interests

My research interests are primary focused on land cover analysis and terrain modeling using Remote Sensing. I am also interested in GIS modeling methods and applications specifically, those dealing with these topics. Currently I am researching scale issues in LIDAR remote sensing specifically for applications in hydraulic modeling.

Currently I am working on developing a web based "Geospatial Primer" course in conjuction with the The Institute for Advanced Education in Geospatial Sciences at Ole Miss. This course is projected to serve two primary audiences. First, managing professionals that are interested in implementing, or have already implemented geospatial technologies in there workplace and are be responsible for supervising and guiding the work of the technicians and analysts that operate on geospatial data. This course is also appropriate for the student who is exploring the possibility of acquiring deeper knowledge in the subject, but has not acquired the mathematical and statistical background to take the regular introductory course and is not currently disposed to spending the time required to do so. Examples of such students might be high school age students, or undergraduate students lacking a scientific background.
