PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND AND INTERESTS
For most of my professional career I spent 20 years as a micropaleontologist/analysist for Tenneco Oil/Chevron Texaco Oil in Lafayette, Louisiana. I focused upon the interpretation of drill cuttings from oil and gas wells in Tertiary age sediments from the Louisiana offshore area. I was the supervisor for the offshore Paleontological Processing Lab and coordinator of computer data for division paleontology. Prior to working for Tenneco/Chevron Texaco, I was a consulting paleontologist with Paleo-Data, Inc in New Orleans.
Since 2006 I have been teaching in the Geology program at Southern Miss. I teach a variety of courses, mostly focused upon petroleum geology and paleontology.
