EcoEagle Representatives

What are EcoReps?
In short, these are faculty, staff, and student representatives who educate their peers about environmental issues and encourage others to live in a more eco-friendly manner. EcoReps is a year-long program.

What are the responsibilities of an EcoRep?
There is a monthly meeting.  At each meeting we’ll introduce a new topic, have activities, and watch movies. For each month, every EcoRep will receive an electronic workbook and other supporting materials.

The University of Southern Mississippi is committed to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and do its part to stop climate change.  The SMGI is helping steer Southern Miss towards a clean energy path. Although Southern Miss Green Initiative’s main focus is climate change mitigation, we recognize that ensuring a sustainable path of development means addressing a very wide range of environmental issues.  Being an EcoEagle Representative helps the Office of Sustainability accomplish just this. The more people involved, the larger the audience influenced.  If you would like to become an EcoEagle Representative please apply here.
