Ann Billings

Ann Billings, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Director of Admissions, has served twenty-nine years at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast. A Mississippi Gulf Coast native, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1987 and a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration in 1994 from The University of Southern Mississippi.

Ann began her career at Southern Miss as a student employee while working on her bachelor’s degree.  After completing her degrees she was hired as an academic advisor and then later advanced to admissions counselor, Director of Admissions and Records, and Director of Student Services.  In 2010, she was promoted to Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Director of Admissions.  She provides leadership to admissions, recruitment, student services, financial aid and veterans affairs.   She has spent much of the last several years participating in the rehabilitation of the Gulf Park campus, in Long Beach.  Her greatest reward at work is developing relationships with students and encouraging them to pursue their educational goals. 

Ann is a 2013 graduate of Leadership Gulf Coast.  In 2012, she received recognition by The Gold Leaf Society at Southern Miss.  This anonymous group, committed to the betterment of The University of Southern Mississippi, selects seven individuals annually as recipients of the Gold Leaf medallion.   She is also a member on the state, regional, and national levels of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, holding office at the state level.  She served as a board member of the Alzheimer’s Association of South Mississippi and Gulf Coast Community Ministries, a free faith based clothing closet, medical clinic, and food pantry in Gulfport. 

Ann is a member of First Baptist Church, in Gulfport.  She is married to her husband, Bryan, and they have two children.
