Fujun Lai, Ph.D.

Dr. Fujun Lai is a McCarty Distinguished Professor of MIS/DS and Professor of Management.  He joined the Southern Miss Gulf Coast faculty in 2003.  Prior to 2003, he was a member of the business faculty at Tennessee State University.  Dr. Lai completed his doctorate at City University of Hong Kong in 2000.  His research focuses on supply chain management and e-business.

 

Professional Honors and Accomplishments

Dr. Lai has published more than 40 papers in such journals as Journal of Operations Management, International Journal of Production Research, Decision Sciences, Decision Support Systems, Journal of Business Research, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Communications of the ACM, Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, among others.

Dr. Lai was presented with the President's Faculty Research Award (USM, 2008), the Louis K. Brandt Publications Award (USM, 2009), the Literati Network Awards for Excellence (2007), and the BAC Professorship (USM, 2006-2009). He also won "Best Application Research Paper" at Decision Sciences Institute 2010 Annual Conference and his article on Decision Science Journal was selected as “Top Article in 2010” of the journal.  Dr. Lai has been on several journals’ editorial boards, including Journal of Business Research, Annals of Management Science, and International Journal of Integrated Supply Chain.  He also guest-edited the Journal of Global Information Technology Management.
