Building Better Business at the College of Business USM

Get Started TODAY!

  1. Meet with one of our advisors to determine which, if any, pre-requisite courses you need. Even if you already have a degree in business or accounting, our advisors will need to see unofficial transcripts from every institution of higher learning you have attended to verify that you have the necessary courses.
  2. If you need to take some pre-requisites, sign up to take these courses as soon as you can. Complete an undergraduate admission form for either the Gulf Coast or Hattiesburg USM campus. Some undergraduate pre-requisites may also be taken at another college.
  3. If you have met the pre-requisites, start working on your application package and schedule the GMAT.
  4. Applicants can take up to two (6 hrs) graduate-level MBA or MPA courses without being admitted into the program (while you prepare your application.) In order to take a course as a non-degree student, you will need to apply to the university as a non-degree student, and obtain permission from one of our advisors to take the course(s). To apply as a non-degree student go to the Graduate School web site and complete the Application for Graduate Admissions either online or in PDF format. A Non-degree Enrollment Form will need to be completed and signed by the Graduate Programs Coordinator for every course taken under non-degree status. If you are accepted into the program, courses taken under non-degree status will be applied to your plan of study.
  5. Up to 6 hours of approved, graduate-level courses can be transferred from another, AACSB-accredited business program. Make sure to meet with your advisor before registering for courses at another institution, to ensure your transfer credits will be accepted.
