It has been said that educators affect eternity -- their influence may have no end. At Southern Miss Gulf Coast, the College of Education and Psychology understands the powerful connections between education and success, relationship skills and quality of life, and research and practice.

Southern Miss Gulf Coast’s College of Education and Psychology provides the talent, experience, expertise and tools to make the most of those connections. Students in the program use the latest, most innovative technology to develop meaningful knowledge and professional skills that yield positive change in their own lives and the lives of others.

The college prepares and develops educators, researchers, and mental health professionals equipped for success in a culturally diverse, global community. Our students develop essential knowledge and skills through exposure to exemplary teaching, research, and professional service.

When our students venture into their careers, they are solidly prepared to perform at a level that demonstrates our commitment to improve the educational attainment of the citizens of Mississippi and, in turn, the economic development of the state.
