Students who wish to receive federal financial assistance for the summer session must complete the 2012-2013 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if they have not already done so.
Priority date to submit the summer application for financial assistance: February 6
Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least four (4) semester hours to be eligible to receive federal financial assistance. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least three (3) semester hours to be eligible to receive federal financial assistance. All credit hours taken during the summer session must apply towards a student's program of study.
Students who enroll in Study Abroad programs and in summer school are not eligible to acquire loan refunds until ten (10) days before the summer session begins or (10) days before their departure for study abroad, whichever comes later. Students attending Study Abroad must have paid the deposit with International Programs and be approved to participate before federal aid can be awarded. Students with SOAR accounts should complete the application in SOAR by navigating the following path: Self Service>Student Center>Finances>Apply for Financial Aid.
(Web application is available September 1st.)
