In 1977, Shelia White was hired by The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in business administration. Upon completing her undergraduate degree in 1982, she continued her graduate studies and earned a master of education degree in adult education from Southern Miss in 1987. She has held numerous positions at the university during her tenure, all focusing on academic scheduling, marketing and public relations. White has received many professional awards for her work in public relations from the Public Relations Association of Mississippi, the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi, and the Southern Public Relations Federation. White was named the 2002 recipient of the Public Relations Association of Mississippi Professional Achievement Award, after being named her local chapter’s recipient of the Rex Kelly Professional Achievement Award. She has been honored in her community as the Harrison County Schools 1999 Parent of the Year, Mississippi’s 50 Leading Business Women in 2000 by the Mississippi Business Journal and received the Staff Excellence Award in 1995 from The University of Southern Mississippi. She

Judy
Day Isbell |
Judy Isbell joined the staff of The University of Southern Mississippi in November 2001 as Communications Specialist for the Hydrographic Science Research Center in the Department of Marine Science at the Stennis Space Center teaching site. She has since worked as Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator for the University's Gulf Coast Operations, and most recently as Director of Web-based Marketing. In this role, she is responsible for guiding Web development for the University's Gulf Coast Operations to address the area's high-growth missions. A native of Jackson, Miss., Judy attended Southern Miss for both undergraduate and graduate degrees in journalism and communications and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Mass Communication. Charmaine
L. Williams |
Charmaine Williams is a 2006 graduate of the School of Mass Communication and Journalism at Southern Miss and joined the Southern Miss Gulf Coast team in March 2007. A Coast native, Charmaine is responsible for news writing, photography and administrative support for the Marketing and Public Relations Department at Southern Miss Gulf Coast. Diana
Reid |
Diana Reid joined
The University of Southern Mississippi in January 2001 and is graphic
designer and publications coordinator for the Gulf Coast Research
Laboratory (GCRL) in Ocean Springs, Miss. She has more than 25
years of professional graphic design experience and has won numerous
awards in her field. A Texas native, she moved to Mississippi in
1993 and worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding in Public Relations. Prior
to joining the Southern Miss team, Diana owned and operated her
own graphic design business. |
Martha
Duvall |
Martha Duvall joined
The University of Southern Mississippi family following Hurricane
Katrina and is marketing and public relations specialist for the
Gulf Coast Research Laboratory (GCRL) in Ocean Springs, Miss. Her
responsibilities include media relations, external communications
and special projects.
She is an active member and a past president of the Public Relations
Association of Mississippi Gulf Coast Chapter. She is also a past
member of the board of directors for the Southern Public Relations
Federation.
Before coming to Southern Miss, she was communications coordinator
for United Way for Jackson and George Counties for six years, and
prior to that worked as public relations and membership officer for
Walter Anderson Museum of Art. She holds a bachelor's degree in communications
and psychology from the University of South Alabama. |
Tammy
Stafford |
Tammy
Stafford joined the Center of Higher Learning at the Stennis
Space Center teaching site in 2005 as its Marketing and Education
Coordinator. She holds a bachelor's degree in English
and a master's degree in Public Relations both from the University
of Southern Mississippi. Prior to coming to Southern
Miss, Tammy was the public relations coordinator for the Hancock
County School District. A life-long resident of the Coast,
she now resides in Bay St. Louis. Tammy can be reached
