Students will study logistics and supply chain management, plant layout and other industrial engineering topics, business management, mathematical programming and computer simulation. Each student works closely with their individual graduate committee to design a plan of study to build a program tailored to their educational and career goals. The thesis component of the graduate program in Engineering Technology is a vital part of the learning experience. The thesis allows great flexibility for students to customize their degrees to reflect their personal backgrounds, integrate their learning interests, utilize their committee support, and explore their potential. THE FACULTY The LMT emphasis draws its faculty from the University of Southern Mississippi’s School of Construction. Our faculty is dedicated to teaching the latest topics from logistics and industrial engineering. Southern Miss faculty is also very involved with industry problems and practices, and use industry ties to make the LMT program applied and relevant. Industry contacts are also fundamental to generating summer internships and placements. PLACEMENT After completing the program, our graduates will have the skills and training to position themselves to a new level in their current career field or to find employment in a variety of industries – such as retail, transportation, or defense.
