Welcome to the College of Health

The University of Southern Mississippi’s College of Health is known for applied research, community service and partnerships, and – most importantly – education for professional excellence.

The CoH includes six schools and departments offering nearly 30 professional preparation programs at the baccalaureate, masters and doctoral levels of study. The college has 3,000 majors served by 130 faculty and staff, and it produces over 700 professional graduates each year.

The college delivers courses of study leading to respected, high-demand credentials, allowing graduates to combine service to people with the capacity to make a good living. The CoH has lots of options, all

excellent, all leading to rewarding careers.

Beyond its academic programs, CoH is home to schools, centers and clinics serving people and families across south Mississippi. Its programs provide outstanding opportunities for hands-on learning, research, and valuable service to vulnerable populations.

Between the Gulf Coast and Hattiesburg campuses the CoH fulfills over $10 million per year in grants and contracts related to vital health issues such as obesity and cardiovascular disease prevention, cancer education, injury prevention, lead exposure, juvenile delinquency intervention, tobacco use prevention, and more.
