Mission Statement

The Southern Miss Gulf Coast Learning Commons provides qualified and certified peer tutors in a free, multi-faceted collaborative environment that is safe and nonjudgmental assisting in the progression of students in their educational journey towards academic excellence. It offers an open, friendly, & readily equipped atmosphere whether meeting with a tutor in person or via virtual technology. The Learning Commons encourages students to succeed at tasks no matter the size in a confidential setting where they can strive to achieve educational growth culminating in a positive experience.
