Director, Live Oak Writing Project

Catherine Tibbs is Director of Live Oak Writing Project.  Her years as a middle school and high school teacher in Hancock County and Madison County give her a background that works well with her position.  She works closely with school districts to plan and provide quality staff development.  The focus of her work is in helping teachers develop expertise in writing instruction and instruction in literacy.  Her work encompasses kindergarten through secondary teachers.

Currently Mrs. Tibbs is working with the Mississippi Department of Education and Teacher Consultants from Live Oak Writing Project to develop and implement staff development sessions to guide teachers as they transition to implementation of the Common Core Student Standards.  More information on this program will be posted at a later time.
