Ron Shaw, U.S. Navy Fleet Survey Team, graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Hydrographic Science from The University of Southern Mississippi in August 2006. The year-long program is accredited by the International Hydrographic Organization Advisory Board at the Category A Level.

Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Mississippi

The mission of The University of Southern Mississippi at Keesler Air Force Base is to provide courses, programs and services designed to meet the unique needs of the military members, retirees, and civilian community. Southern Miss at Keesler is centrally located and offers on-base bachelor's degrees in American Studies, Psychology and Technical and Occupational Education with master's degrees in Technology Education and Political Science. Southern Miss at Keesler works closely with the Keesler 81 Department of Education/Mission Support Squadron to provide excellent customer service in the areas of registration, advisement and tuition assistance for on-base degree programs and most off-base degree programs.

Naval Construction Battalion Center, Gulfport, Mississippi

The Navy College Office on the Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport currently provides The University of Southern Mississippi with an office located in Building 60 Room 239 that is shared with Coastline community College. The University of Southern Mississippi provides advisement services on every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month from 9 a.m. - noon. Currently, Southern Miss does not hold classes at the Construction Battalion Center. Our nearest campus is located at the corner of 45th Avenue and 15th Street in Gulfport, Mississippi, directly behind Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, 1.2 miles south of the Naval Construction Battalion Center.

Northrup Grumman Ship Yard, Pascagoula, Mississippi

The Northrop Grumman Ship Yard currently provides The University of Southern Mississippi with the opportunity to offer "Information Sessions" every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 0900 - 1200 hours at the PRECOM building on Makin Island. Currently, Southern Miss does not hold classes at Northrop Grumman. Our nearest Teaching Site is located at Jackson County (228.497.3636) on the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College campus on Highway 90 in Gautier, Mississippi. Located in Building S on the southeast side of the campus, the Jackson County Teaching Site provides registration, advisement, financial aid information, tuition collection, and a selection of undergraduate and graduate classes for the convenience of student in the eastern section of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The Naval Oceanographic Office, Stennis Space Center, Mississippi

The University of Southern Mississippi maintains a unique partnership with the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVO) at the John C. Stennis Space Center in Hancock County, Mississippi.

As NASA's leader center for rocket propulsion testing and earth sciences, Stennis Space Center boasts the single largest concentration of oceanographers and hydrographers in the world. With master's and doctorate degrees in marine science and a specialized master's degree in hydrographic science, the Department of Marine Science located at Stennis will offer a new bachelor's degree in marine science in Fall 2007.
