| Dr. Holt is assistant professor of geography in the College of Science and Technology. He received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Texas (History) and both a master’s degree (History) and a doctorate of philosophy (Geosciences: Environmental Dynamics) from the University of Arkansas. Dr. Holt received the Southern Miss Environmental Hero Award in 2010 and the Distinguished Professor of e-Learning award in 2008. Dr. Holt is currently involved in service learning, showing students direct application of geography to the community in projects like mapping cemeteries, creating nature trails, assisting 9-1-1 response and mapping paleontology dig sites. |
