Alumni Spotlight - June 2012

Ms. Mary Ann Legett Mach

The College of Health alumni spotlight for June, 2012 is awarded to Ms. Mary Ann Legett Mach.  Ms. Mach graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with three degrees: a Bachelors of Science in Speech Correction with a minor in Psychology in 1956, Masters of Science in in Speech Pathology in 1965 from the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences, and an Ed.S. in Secondary Education and a minor in Speech and Hearing Sciences in 1973. 

Ms. Mach has several licenses from the Mississippi State Department of Education including Psychometrist, Special Subject Supervisor, Mentally Retarded, Hearing Disability, and others. She was also successful in achieving a Certificate of Clinical Competence-Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing-Association.

Ms. Mach holds leadership roles with the Mississippi Speech-Language-Hearing Association and was awarded its 2012 Frank R. Kleffner Lifetime Clinical Career Award for advancement of knowledge in clinical practice in speech-language pathology and audiology.  Ms. Mach has many years of leadership and service in the field of speech and hearing.
